This morning...

8.15 am: Knock Knock
8.16 am: Mum came up with a box wrapped up in green and pass it over to me. (I dunno why i was awake alrdespite the fact that im not working today. and when i worked i complained about having to wake up so early... WEIRD)
8:17 am: read the front of the green wrapped up box. it says:

Glass bottle with liquid... hummmm... wat is it? and i couldn't recognise the signature as well... Mystery Sender?

The box. very pretty red box....

I open it it was filled with TISSUE PAPERS ard the "bottle with liquid" and it also has two face towel wrapped ard it.... *wonder wonder*

And after much effort to put aside the tissue paper, i found that the bottle with liquid wasn't really a bottle with only liquid- it has BABY SHRIMPS! Someone smuggle food into NZ...... cham lah!

That was wat i got.. haha! thanks Candice! It made through customs! Cincalok and eh... solared power swaying tigger head....

Huanlin, Sampo, Mingli, Weizhong and me in Melbourne ( detailed)

Christmas:

Taking pictures before we head to the Bennets place for our usual Christmas dinner. The boys and mum The crazy ppl here.... ;)
Our Christmas dinner. Ham was really nice....

Guess whats still on my mind....

The "freaking" trip to Melbourne that happened like two weeks ago! i can't get it off me! i kept thinking of all the places we go, what we ate, the detestable files resting all over us and us trying to fan them away and the cute little fairy penguins.... shit!!!

so i have to blog about Melbourne again.. haha...

To Huanlin, Sampo, Mingli, Weizhong and me! *my recollection of the trip*

The trip was really superb! when wz and i arrived at melbourne airport, we walked ard, went to toilet, went to the shops in and out, out and in again, toilet, ate Hungry Jacks, toilet again and soon... it was time for the threesome to arrive. went to the waiting hall and received a text from Sampo saying that the plane has touched down. so we waited and waited.. hmmm... taking quite some time but heartbeat was beating at a rate that if it goes any faster, i would collapse. FINALLY, saw Huanlin, Sampo and Mr Zhang walking out.. the initial few seconds was quite awkward cos hey! its been a year plus since we've met.. but soon the pai-seh-ness vanishes. Got a maxi-cab( INDIAN driver can! and never on the air cond!) and we arrive at the apt and molly molly... the apt was GOOD!!! it has everything- everything!!! we powered up the air cond to its max and then investigate the apt. we soon got changed and shot out of the apt. quite lost but National Service has done lots of good to Mr Zhang and he is so good with the maps and directions... so soon, we find ourselves waiting for the free city tram. Got off halfway and walk down Swanston Street. Saw this place * i forgot the name again* where we had that malaysian-indonesian fried chicken with rice.... ayam sth lah... and hl and i had jack fruit with crashed ice... not genuine stuff but in that hot weather- that satisfies! After dinner we head on to the supermarket to get our groceries. The kettle provided in the apt was quite erm.. not cool so we were debating on where/how we get our water. we saw big water container with dispensers!!!! but we din get that- got 12 bottle of mineral water bottles and later found out that we can't get a cab cos there's five of us. So each of us gets a few bottles- put them in bags, plastics bags and carry them back... the journey back was quite long- we were tired, its hot and our uninvited friends the FLIES kept visiting us... but soon we made it back to the apt. according to our plan before the trip, we shd be heading to the Crown casino but becos we were totally zombed out, we call it an early night with instant noodles as supper.

On the second day, knowing that the weather is "showers developing" we head out to Great Ocean Road. The ride was windy and in the end, had to request the motion sickness pills from Hl. Perfect fish and chip lunch! fresh fish with nice crispy chips. oh! forgot that we had some billy (?) tea and vegemite crackers and lamingtons. great sightseeing along the view....
AND we saw Koalas on the way.. not in captivity as in like enclosed area but in the natural setting.... how cool!!!!
in the end we took the helicopter ride as well after hearing the guide"promoting" it.. it was worth it, Helicopter was sexy, driver was even sexier and hey! if we din go for the helicopter ride, we would end up walking ard providing a rest place for the freaking FLIES! so wise choice to take up the helicopter ride!
We reached the city ard 8ish pm and went to have Italian for dinner. we had pizza, pasta, (kebab) chicken and pork chops.
Sampo then got a choc churro. we all had a bite- sweet. and then the remaining churro went to have a long rest in the refrigerator.
ended the nite with some fun at the Crown Casino. WE (except for Sampo n Mingli) kept changing machines trying to find the lucky one.. but no luck! still great fun!

Third day: went to Victoria mkt and st kilda mkt. kana rip off by some unknown aussie serving breakfast at Victoria mkt, but quite tasty lah... we bought lots of small items, gifts etc.rested at this restaurant. we sat outside taking in the fresh air, hot sun and windy wind. had wedges with sour cream. spectacular view of the beach with three pricey bikes parked in front. now dinner- we had steamboat for dinner at this chinese restaurant 3 mins walk from our apt. the staffs are the most unpleasant ppl i've seen in melbourne. gosh! super rude! but anyway, the food was really chinese as in like chinese chinese- had dumpling and some funny veges etc. no very cool dinner.

Monday: went to Puffing billy train ride, visit to the farm and Philip Island. excited to get on the train but becos it was ppl squeeze ppl, we did not manage to sit together and also with the fact that this is this super weirdo family sandwich between us... its like "move over to our side on the cabin.. u know.. the train moves so the view is the same, ding dong!!!!" they din budge at all... so we sat . then head on to the farm to have homestead lunch... nice...! proceed to the farm to feed the lamb, attempt to feed the baby cows but they weren't interested so we milked the ma ma cow, sheep shearing, feeding the kangaroo ....
Sampo ended the farm trip with scones. thought she will have some leftover to add to the "family" she has created in the fridge but she din! she finished the scones! hooray!
went on to have dinner- fish and chip, burgers. we were't hungry and besides it was only 5 plus.. so the dinner wasn't fantastic. roam ard, providing resting place for our FRIENDS ( now we're friends) the FLIES! head on the the seal rocks and then to the penguin parade. freezing, windy, excited...... bought blankets. and soon tiny tiny penguins were within our sight.... they came out of the water, walked a few steps and hurried back to the waters... did that for couple of them and then finally make across the beach and back to land to their burrows .... while walking back to the coach bus... the fairy penguins were just beside us, some were walking, standing and some pausing and in deep thought. It was a priceless experience to watch these penguins in their natural behaviour! the highlight of the trip!

Tuesday: its our shopping day! we work up late today.... not too late tho.. prob 8am. went for a awesome breakfast. was more worth it than the one we had at Vic mkt. Yumm! then we head for ths shops! we shop and buy, buy, buy! did not really had lunch but afternoon tea at this cake shop place. Mingli is not supposed to take beef but he ordered Cottage Pie anyway.. Ignorance is bliss isn't it?
Shopping day was good! bought lots of stuff, retire back to the apt and started packing our bags.... we all had to take out our extra baggage. Counted our money and realised that we STILL can spend ( taken into account the dinner we are going to have and the taxi trip to the airport) quite a fair bit.
Oh Thanks to Mingli- he is the money keeper for this trip! excellent job done.
Had dinner at this steak place. Wz had kangaroo meat. ;- /

Last day: had instant noodles for breakfast. check out and then head for the shops again! we basically went back to the same few shops we went on Tuesday to see if we can get anymore items.. and lunch at Singapore Chom Chom!

Things we bought for(ourselves) the two shopping days:

Huanlin: purple dress, a Kookai pink top, two shorts from Cotton on, wallet from sportsgirl
Sampo: two heels, Kookai erm panty, two beach/pj looking shorts from Cotton on, belt, three tops from Portsman, wallet from Sportsgirl
Me: Shoes, two pair of slippers kind from Charles and Keith, two tops from Kookai, Jeans(portsman), 3/4s Sportsgirl, gio plain top and two tops from Mng

Is that all?

Din really keep track of what the guys got- Mingli got shoes, polo tees, Wz got some shirts, Jacket ....

YES!!! thats our melbourne trip..... a memory to stay and absolutely a highlight for the year 2007! good way to end 2007!!!

Cont...

this is from the backwards tho.... cos or else i have to drag the pictures downwards.... okie.. lets start!

At the airport- flight was delayed for 30 mins... so we took pictures!

Okie- ayam goreng... nice... what the name of the stall again?

At Seal rocks- Trip was freaking awesome! with the ocean right in front of our eyes, waves against rocks.... wind against our dry face....
The view at the seal rock with the sun blazing.....
Huanlin having a go at milking the cow... the teats rite.... very swollen and squishy.... dunno when we pressed hor.... how the cow feels...- high? painful? or just normal?
i think sampo is really afraid that the cow might give her a good kick- what else would explain why she is sitting so far away and the position of her legs are like..." im ready to run"
This Koala's hand.... is he doing the koala macarena?
I think the weather is too hot, even for this koala- thus explaining the position he is in while sleeping.. need to open big the legs to air BALLS...
Us in the Puffing Billy Train. we are allowed to sit on the window rails with our legs dangling out of the train.. nice experience. Sampo and Huanlin are at the other side cos we have a rude family who doesn't want to swap over...
The puffing billy train ride and the Driver(?) who doesn't know how to siam when i take pictures.
Me and the yang meh meh....

Sorry Sampo, dun mean to pick on you.. but this pose is quite interesting as well.. lol
St Kilda's pier.... strong winds but real hot as well.
They went swimming- i forgot to bring mine... Mingli is walking across the pool with his belonging. is it deep or is he erm.. SH*RT?

The "12" apostles. 7 left ( i think so)with 2 extra on the other side... dun really know what the extra ones meant...
Friends from the other side of the world....
London Bridge ( lame lah... copy one.. doesnt look like bridge at all loh.. ) but still nice lah
In the city waiting for the tram with Mingli posing with the zebra..

Familiarity breeds comfort- but hey! it was a SUPER 5 days trip!!

Arrived home at half past 2am this morning. had an awesome time at Melbourne!

We Ate,

We went for tours,

We walk from town to apt, from apt to town,

We Poo heaps of times,

We Sshh. Sshh heaps of times as well,

We shop and last but not least,

We provide a resting place for FLIES - they rest on our backs, arms, hair and Sampo's bag!

For meals,

NICE: we had yummiest fish and chips on the great ocean road tour and beef and chicken homestead lunch combo on the Phillip island tour. We had super duper nice breakfast serving the thickest loaf bread and yummiest mushrooms and rabit?

NOT SO GOOD: got rip off by a cafe coz they charge us AUD $12.90 per set breakfast serving lamb? sausages, egg and bacon. THATS ALL! Fish and chip in a takeaway stall wasn't really good as well. and also the cheena steamboat- dodgy food....

HOME SWEET HOME TASTE FOR ME AND WEIZHONG: we had ayam *sth and mee goreng for the first night dinner and last day lunch , i had Mee hoon kuey and grilled fish with sambal on banana leaf!- That stall was called Singapore chom chom and i requested to go there.. ha!

SHOCKERS: I think in all for 5 days in Melbourne, i had roundabout 4-5 packets/cups of instant noodles..... hmmm...

I finally had a bite on krispy kreme donuts.... have to force ourselves to finish it after each of us have two... wonder who got the last two piece...? Lao Zhang?

The gurls....N the boys...

Us in the helicopter. i haven got pic of Mingli in my cam as he was sitting in front and we were taking picutres of ourselves and the scenery *sometimes

Dun ask me what Sampo is doing... taking pictures of the scenery maybe.. but i seriously dun know why she has to stand like tat.. hahah

utililise my sick leave today again with much disapproval of my manager * but hey! i've hardly called in sick while i was at FAI finance for 3 years and now im using them like once every week starting last week! c'mon get a grip! i have only 7 days left alright!*

Fully utilised my day at home. send out CVs, went to Student Job Search and all other job search sites to look for temp /part time job.

Spoke to my neighbour. Sam( their dog) was put down . sad to hear that.... he is a lovely dog with the loudest bark ever at strangers... and he is Baxter's friend!

Wz bought my required texts for my course. Four of them. NICE!

Went to library to collect my books. hanging on to them cos its for the aussie trip: while waiting for the gang from singapore to arrive.. its 4 hours wait.. so i guess the time will be put to reading my books..

Now, tmr have to go back to work! not cool at all.
