went shopping yesterday, wanting to get myself some footwear. nothing caught my "four eyes". was pouring yesterday and today. its Spring! and the past few days have been Superbly HOT which is fantastic. and today i found out that my manager has YET to approve my leave in Dec-Jan. oh well.... i've alr bought the tix...* all ten fingers cross*
This week lunch menu is sandwiches. bought two type of hams, cucumbers, bread and cheese. Dun always look forward to sandwiches for lunch but thats the easiest to prepare. Last week was terrible. had to eat out almost every day for lunch. Had no idea what to have- but i think i ended up with korean meal on friday, turkish chicken on rice on thursday and Japanese chicken lunch box on wed.
Baxter has his "balls" (neuturerd) on Wed. calmer now and when taking him out for a walk just now, he wasn't really concerned at the dog that was on the other side of the road... *which is good*

Ah ha! Miss Susan is due to leave for Dubai coming Tues. Saw on Qy and Susan's blog that they had a "farewell" gathering...
Bought back memories- 4 years back when i left Singapore for New Zealand. Busy meeting friends, going to all sort of places, taking pics, buying last min items like never before, packing. Becos i was moving for good, packing prove to be a challenge. Only allowed to bring a maximum of xx weight. So i threw most of my "barang" away and only bring over the essentials, very essentials. I remembered that i was doing last min lock up of my luggage and dunno why Qiuyan was there, and i threw away my yearbooks and she was scolding me? or sth like that, haha!Kinda regret now tho but i guess i had no choice then.
Moving to a new place, away from friends ( and family- for Susan) brings about mixed feelings.
Excited: Not sure what the new place is like, lifestyle etc
Sad: leaving behind family and friends and (most importantly) FOOD!
Nervous, scared: PPL- Kiwis and people of Dubai. what are they like? culture clash? Ethnic awareness ( racism?)
Happy: new phase. another beginning. meet new friends.

the first few months will definately be difficult. I do not speak Kiwi english at all, some of the lingo i do not understand, the local jokes i do not know, the places i am not sure but after much effort to blend into the mainstream, you pick up some every day.
Friends are hard to make. When i meet another Singaporean, its like picking up a $100 note! Immediate click!

To Susan: Its a shame that i am not able to send you off for your trip ( i like going to the airport leh....) but i wish you all the best!
Remember, things will not be easy, lifestyle will change, you will feel lonely at times and regret being there. Tears will drop and you will find that there is no one to reach to. At times, you wish that you are in Singapore, q-ing up for donuts or eating laksa with cockles. You will miss your family- what are they doing now, how are they?
Let these feelings/thought/emotions mould you to become a strong lady, to be a different person as to what you are today ( not that you are bad now but u know what i mean.. for the better...!)

From when we know our O's results, Qiuyan, Liyan, Candice, You and myself have gone different ways. We all went to different schools for our tertiary studies (except Candice and Qiuyan in NYP). We all have different career lines. I left. Kids, families formed. We visited Singapore and met up. Fun times in attacking someone for hurtful comments said to one of us. We all keep in contact via blogs, msn, emails. You are leaving on Tuesday. *cut the long story short* WE ALL WILL MEET UP ONE DAY. maybe Taiwan next year ( as discussed) and we will all sit down and talk about our everyday lives.........
